Purpose of the document: Use this document for guidelines purposes only for IET- BEST ACTOR category 2020. This is the Grand Finale Protocol Document. This document will provide details on rules, guidelines, marking, scoring for The Best Actor. Please read this document carefully.

Category will have two stages after successful participation confirmation.

1. Stage 1: Group Level (Completed – Early 2021)
2. Stage 2: Grand Finale (Mid 2021)

1^ST FUNCADEMY AWARDS 2020

THE BEST ACTOR contains only one age division category for the Great Grand Finale Finalists. There are different types of performance categories. This protocol document contains the information that is used for the children to participate in The Best Actor category that is to be conducted. So please read this document carefully.

 

GRAND FINALE (Solo)

PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES

The Best Actor category comprised of disparate forms of expressions to be unveiled to our esteemed judges/panellists. The emotions are,

• Convivial – Emotion of being friendly, lively and enjoyable.
• Panicky – Feeling or characterized by uncontrollable fear or anxiety.
• Lunatic –  An extremely foolish or eccentric reaction.
• Melancholy – Intensity of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.
• Astonished – Expression of greatly surprised or impressed; amazed.
• Agony – Perception of extreme and generally prolonged pain.
• Sceptical – Having an attitude of doubt; suspicious.
• Whimper – Sensation of crying.
• Celebratory – Feeling or expressing happiness and pride.
• Resentful – Being angry or holding a grudge against something.
• Solicitous – Eager or anxious to do something.
• Idle – Characterized by inaction or absence of significant activity.
• Panting – Sense of breathing with short, quick breaths; out of breath. For instance, when you have just come from a run.
• Annoyance – The feeling or state of being annoyed; irritation. For sample, when you are watching a match and somebody interrupts you.
• Fear of solitude – Emotion of fear when alone. E.g., when you are alone at home and hear a sound in the other room.
• Tedious – Feeling of tiresome because of length or dullness; boring.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Grand Finalists will do Live Performance and voters will vote for their Live Performance. Judges and panellists will give 100 points score based on the finalist’s performance.

LIVE PERFORMANCE

*Kindly refer the PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES for types of expressions. It will help you in this level of performance.

In Live performance, there is only one level of stage performance for each finalist in this GRAND FINALE. In this aspect, it is going to be a either a

• Replica of a Bollywood movie scene

or

• Dual Role

That is,a finalist has to deliver an acting performance of a movie scene as it is or perform dual role at the same time.As we have provided four MOVIE SCENES and four DUAL ROLE concepts below. Each finalist needs to choose any one of the type of act and deliver within 2 minutes.

MOVIE SCENE OPTIONS

                The finalists need to perform any scene from the following movies for 2 minutes

1. TAARE ZAMEEN PAR (Boy)
2. STANLEY’S TIFFIN BOX (Boy)
3. DANGAL(Girl)
4. MANIKARNIKA (Girl)

DUAL ROLE ACT OPTIONS

                The finalists need to perform any dual role act themselves for 2 minutes

1. TEACHER Vs. STUDENT
2. CORONA Vs. COMMON MAN
3. POLICE Vs. THIEF
4. TIME TRAVELLER Vs. GANDHI JI

For instance, Either He or she can choose to replicate a movie scene or does a dual role act.

This Live Stage Performance carries 100 points for the finalist, in which the finalists have to score the maximum points. The judges will provide points as per scoring procedure below.

* Please ensure the act is the solo work of the contestant and any plagiarism will disqualify the contestant. Ensure to respect timelines as timer will be used and no extra time will be provided.

Virtual Performance option – If we couldn’t do a face to face event, then virtual performance will be done on Video Conferencing software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams.

SCORING PROCEDURE

The performances are primarily judged on below factors. It consists of 100 points out of total.

Originality	30 points
Execution	25 points
Creativity/Style	25 points
Gestures	15 points
Voice Projection & Inflection	5 points

* Scores are averaged for all judges and panellists to determine the final score.

GUIDELINES

The candidate should follow these rules for delivering the talent in the Grand Finale Stage. So read these guidelines carefully.

• The Best Actor talent which is going to be perform should be fun and riskless
• The candidate should accomplish the talent within the time duration
• The talent should accommodate with Positive attitude
• Furnish the credibility in a confident demeanour
• Keep it natural and keep it simple
• Ensure your act/performance is of Universal category, which is safe for kids and families to watch.

LIMITATIONS

There are few obstructions for how to deliver the talent in both semblance and communication levels. Therefore, the candidates should follow those stipulations requisite.

• Hair should be out of your face, unless required by the performance
• Take off your glasses if needless, because it would be helpful in judging your eye contact
• Tone inflection and delivery should be like a normal conversation
• Avoid gobbling, chewing, chomping, gnawing or nibbling your words
• Apparels and equipment must be fair and acceptable
• Don’t turn your back to the judges/panellist, unless required by the performance
• Don’t be insightful, if the content is not new or fresh
• Comprisal of any political party names or their activities or any controversial topic or any incidents regarding of individuals is strictly proscribed during the performance.
• Contestants will stop their performance if they exceed the time limit.
• The talent must be substantially genuine. If any fraudulence found, then the contestant should be notified of disqualification before the winners are announced.
• Consumption of any properties/stunts for performance must be acquaint earlier
• All contestants and families are requested to not to disclose the winner details/photos/videos taken during the live performance. Because we need to keep the surprise highly confidential to all the general audience before the official Live streaming release by Funkids India on 1st August 2021.

Make a roadmap for your performance and ready to rehearse before coming to the Stage. You have roughly 2 minutes to bring off your skills with this round. Tell yourself that your enactment is powerful and you are a strong Contestant. You owe it to yourself to have fun and utilize those 2 minutes. Keep your energy as high as possible. Be passion about what you reveal. Have fun!!!

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

The Judges, Finalists, Audience and FunKidsIndia Crew should follow the safety measures while gathering for the Grand Finale.

• Required Government Covid-19 Guidelines must be followed at all times. Please bring your masks, hand sanitizers, maintain 2-meter social distance for others etc.
• Bring 72 hours before Covid-Negative Report. If Corona symptoms occurred, please let us know ASAP.
• While coming to Finale, ensure to keep your family safe during travel and Grand Finale.
• Be respectful to others all the times. Any inappropriate behaviour won’t be tolerated against FunKidsIndia Team, Judges, other contestants and families, audiences, etc.
• Ensure to follow instructions given by FunKidsIndia Team
• All will be required to wear a face covering, maintain social distancing and use hand sanitizers during the Grand Finale. However, finalists, judges, panellists, anchors and authorized persons will be exempt from wearing masks during the performances

Note: The Grand Finale may be postponed or done only online depending on the situation. However we are aiming to do Face to Face in Delhi (if possible and safe).
